Recipients announced for Suicide Prevention Community Grants
Community groups and organisations across South Australia have been awarded grants of up to $10,000 to help raise awareness about suicide prevention.
Wellbeing SA’s Suicide Prevention Community Grants aim to help local groups deliver suicide prevention initiatives tailored to meet the needs of their community.
Community groups and non-government organisations across both metropolitan and regional South Australia have received funds by demonstrating their ability to promote positive action and reduce the stigma associated with mental health and suicide through individual projects.
These awarded projects aim to strengthen the mental wellbeing and resilience of local residents and benefit the community. They include projects that support community forums to strengthen connections between community members, health and wellbeing activities to encourage early help-seeking, and mental health first aid training for groups most-at-risk of mental distress.
Since 2014, the State Government has provided a total of $150,000 to assist statewide suicide prevention projects through the South Australian Suicide Prevention Community Grants program.
More information on the grants can be found at Suicide Prevention Community Grants • Preventive Health SA
